Frequently asked
Validation examines whether a proposed activity, method or project design can reasonably support a future claim. Verification examines whether a reported historical claim is supported by evidence. The applicable programme determines the exact criteria and the output.
A verification statement addresses a defined assertion, period, boundary, criteria and assurance level. A management-system certificate confirms that a defined management system was assessed against a named standard, within the scope and validity shown on the certificate. They are different conformity-assessment outputs issued by different group entities.
Energy Up International’s accredited programmes are summarised on the Scope page. Accreditation Schedule 1225009B is the controlling record for programmes, sectors, activities and any geographic conditions. CBAM verification is not described as accredited before ACCREDIA grants formal approval.
Compare your activity, standard, sector and country against the schedule, and if there is any doubt, submit a pre-engagement review. We answer with one of three outcomes: inside the scope, outside the scope, or needs clarification.
A deeper examination with wider evidence, concluding in the positive form — that the assertion is fairly stated. It is usually required where a lender or a regulator relies on the output.
A less deep examination with narrower evidence, concluding in the negative form — that nothing came to our attention to suggest the assertion is materially misstated.
The verification body sets it during planning, taking account of the intended user and intended use, and states it in the statement. It is not negotiated to fit a desired result.
Not always. The decision is driven by risk and by the nature of the data. Where risk requires site work, an engagement without it cannot proceed at the agreed assurance level.
The entity and country, the sector and activity, the type of claim, the standard if you know it, the period covered, who will rely on the output, the target date, whether the claim has been verified before, and whether an adviser prepared it.
No. Energy Up International does not prepare or correct the assertion it is engaged to verify. The organization may prepare it internally or appoint an independent adviser.
A separate, non-accredited review that identifies evidence and reporting gaps against defined criteria. It does not calculate the assertion, prescribe corrections, guarantee an outcome or produce a verification statement.
No. A later formal engagement requires a new scope, competence, resources and impartiality review. It may be declined, and any conclusion depends on the evidence examined during that formal engagement.
No formal grant is claimed. The ACCREDIA application under case C DC 07/2026 has been formally accepted and assessment is underway. Accredited CBAM verification will be offered only after formal grant and within the approved scope.
Only after ACCREDIA grants accreditation. We publish the assessment pathway on the CBAM accreditation status page and show only milestones confirmed in writing. We do not publish a predicted date.
No. It is an initial screening tool based on published CBAM goods lists. Customs classification and the current legislation remain controlling, and the operator, exporter and importer should obtain qualified customs advice where needed.
A default value is applied without an evidence file and does not reflect your performance. An actual value reflects your installation but requires a monitoring system, a traceable evidence file and verification under the applicable rules. The easier value is not automatically the cheaper one.
Management-system certification services are delivered by Global Energy Up, which owns the audit programme, the technical review, the certification decision and the certificate register.
Use Certificate Check, which queries the Global Energy Up certification register. A statement issued by Energy Up International is checked in a different register, through Statement Check.
Use the controlled complaints form for Energy Up International activities, or the certification complaints route for a Global Energy Up certificate. Complaints do not go to the sales inbox.
An appeal challenges a specific decision, and follows a route separate from complaints. Personnel involved in the challenged work or decision do not decide the appeal. Use the appeals form.
No. An accreditation symbol must never imply product approval. Marks and symbols are used only under the applicable controlled rules and with written authorization.
New information that could materially affect a conclusion is evaluated promptly. Actions may include additional work, independent review, revision, withdrawal and notification of relevant users. See facts after issuance.
Describe the claim — not the service.
Tell us what must be relied on, who will rely on it and by what date. We will confirm the correct programme, evidence requirement and responsible entity — or tell you it is outside our scope.
